Garmin Nuvi 670
According to
CES Innovations 2007 Awards Honorees
list, Garmin is ready to unveil Nuvi 670 with MSN Direct. Garmin nuvi 670 with MSN Direct is the first GPS navigator offering dynamic, geo-referenced information like traffic conditions, weather forecasts, fuel prices, and movie times from the MSN Direct network, which hopefully means that all other Garmin devices with Bluetooth connectivity should be able to connect to the same or indeed other Internet-based services, unless the wirelless connection hardware is specific to Nuvi 670.
On the same list is Dash Express, touted as the " first Internet-connected automotive navigation device that connects people to the information that empowers them in their cars", although TomTom devices have been connected to the internet (well, to TomTom server) since GO 3/5/700 series hit the high street in 2005. There is plenty of talk from Dash and they promise
that "The Dash Express will be available from www.dash.net and select retailers in California in early 2007, and will be available nationally next summer".
It will be interesing to see how well Nuvi 670 and Dash Express work in reality.
